How the sizing works
Three rules decide the whole system
Everything the designer returns follows from these, applied to the flow your installation actually needs.
333 BV/h design rate
Three litres of LonGeVa media for every m³/h of design flow — the rate that gives 10.8 seconds of empty bed contact time.
Three times the bed volume
The vessel is sized at three times the media charge, leaving 67% freeboard so the bed can expand freely in upflow service.
Simplex, upflow, in/out head
No backwash, no regeneration, no control valve, no salt and no electricity. One vessel, one media charge, continuous service.
